Week Highlights!!
From having a bug stuck in my ear to sharing the Gospel with a kind man at a random coffee shop, I would say that week three has been something special!

Beauty for Ashes
First of all, this week I had the opportunity to lead a women’s retreat with my squad mate Sofia! This was such a sweet opportunity for me to lead others in the process of forgiveness. We went over why we, as daughters of the Father are called to forgive. We were forgiven at the highest cost and in receiving that precious gift, we are called to give it back to others freely who are just as broken as we are. I’m so grateful that we were able to be a part of this ministry with the amazing nicaraguan women here.

No Fear
Something I have been taught throughout ministry here, is to have no fear. We have no fear because the Lord came before us. He brought us here and he’s walking alongside us as we share the life-changing Gospel. I won’t say that house visits and prayer walks have been easy though. It’s difficult to share the absolute most important thing to you and know how to put it into words that will make sense to others when you don’t even understand why God would do all of this for you in your own life.

The Dump
The Dump was a new ministry opportunity for my team this week. What it entails is going to the community trash dump and sharing a message with the people there and then serving them a meal afterwards. My heart was not prepared for this. Desperation is the word that laid heavy on my heart as we left. These people live to make it to the next day. They try to find anything that will make them money for the bare necessities of the day. It really made me check my heart. Am I truly living with a grateful heart? Am I truly desperate for Him in the way I need to be? Do I also understand that I need Him more than I need food or clothes or a car? We all need Him desperately.

Big Update!!
At the end of this week, my squad received big news. We were informed that in a week as we head to Guatemala, our team will be split in two— 9 hours apart. This honestly was heartbreaking to hear. This team has truly become a family and to think we won’t be spending the next month and a half with some of them was really hard to hear. This brought me back to something we learned at training camp. It raised the question of “Are you saying yes to God regardless of what that looks like?”. This question was posed the first week of meeting these people. Little did I know, this would become a reality so quickly after. Am I saying yes to God regardless of who I get to serve with? Am I saying yes to God even though plans have changed immensely? My answer will forever be yes even when it’s hard. As i’m writing this, I’m listening to a song called “Up to Something” by Upperroom. The last lyrics of the song are “You know better than I do so I will put my trust in you.” This again just reminded me of the fact that the Lord had this plan for us all along. He is putting each of us exactly where he needs us to be and without a doubt, He knows better than we do.

True Love
Guys!!! I’m falling in love here. But this is a love i’ve never experienced with any other human. Jesus loves me perfectly. Jesus broke his body for me. For you. He spilled out his blood for me. For you too. How can we not fall in love with the one who sacrificed his own life to be in relationship with me and you? Oh it’s so good!!!!

God bless all of you who are reading this! I am grateful that God brought each of you here. I hope by reading this, it will remind you of his true love for you. All of you back home, Jesus wants your heart. He so deeply wants to be in relationship with you. I hope you know how loved you are. ❤️
